CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, June 2, 2004 – Ned Schiff, Vice President of U. S. Commercial Sales and Marketing for Technology Research Corporation (TRC), (NASDAQ-TRCI), announced that the Company had received approximately $900,000 in orders from multiple air conditioning manufacturers for its Fire Shield® LCDI Cord Sets primarily for use as power cords on Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) units.   PTAC units are used for commercial  applications such as motels, schools, nursing homes and small offices.   Deliveries are expected to be completed within six months. 

Schiff said, “We are pleased these manufacturers selected TRC’s cord fire protection for use on their commercial (PTAC) products.   This brings our orders for cord fire protection for PTAC applications to approximately $1.9 million.”

Cord fire protection for residential room air conditioners still represents a major growth opportunity for the Company.   Fire Shield® LCDI Cord Set products, which  meet UL’s requirements for this application, have been and are currently being evaluated by most room air conditioner manufacturers.   The Company is currently negotiating supply agreements with several of these major air conditioning manufacturers.    

Technology Research Corporation designs, manufactures and markets electrical safety products that save lives, protect people from serious injury from electrical shock and prevent electrical fires in the home and workplace.  These products have worldwide application.  The Company also supplies power monitoring and control equipment to the United States Military and its prime contractors.
