WAL-MART ORDERS FIRE SHIELD® SURGE STRIPS

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, September 10, 2002 – Ned Schiff, Vice President of U.S. Sales and Marketing for Technology Research Corporation (TRC), (NASDAQ:TRCI), announced today that it will be supplying Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. with its Fire Shield Safety Surge Strips beginning in September for approximately 500 stores.

Mr. Schiff stated, “The Company is excited about the above initial stocking order as it represents continued acceptance of its Fire Shield technology for application in the consumer marketplace. Future orders will be determined by demand.”  Mr. Schiff continued, “Earlier in the year, the Company enhanced its Fire Shield products by adding surge protection, and on March 26,2002, the Company announced its line of Fire Shield Surge Strips to be targeted for retail sales.  The UL Listed Fire Shield surge strips are the world’s first line of surge strips that protect your family, pets and home in addition to the connected electronic equipment.
